ALAS Group STATEMENT ON THE NEW COVID VARIANT

November 28th, 2021.

Amid the Group's planned expansion of its global operations in the Southern African region, we are currently aware of the emergence of the new B.1.1.529 coronavirus strain, which has registered cases in the region.

This new development has incited expected unrest in the business community, more notably in the aviation sector, where we have began to witness travel restrictions being instituted and imposed on the flying community from the region to the West.

The advent the new B.1.1.529 strain, has a gross potential negative impact on the aviation business growth profile, and it is imperative and critical for businesses to promptly adjust their practices and approach to keep up with the unfolding development in the region.

We are closely monitoring the situation and developments in the region and we would like to assure our stakeholders and clients, that we are still continuing with our expansion strategy in Southern Africa, as advised by the new developments. We are on standby and ready to assist with effective, sustainable and progressive business solutions which will help cushion the economic effects of the new covid strain on the aviation sector, so as to ensure that businesses remain operational and profitable in this phase.
